It has been 10 years since freedom fighter, film-maker and film activist Badal Rahman had left us. Moviyana Film Society organises Badal Rahman Memorial Lecture to commemorate his 10th death anniversary today at 8:00pm.
The event will be held online due to the ongoing pandemic. This year, noted film director and writer Syed Salahuddin Zaki will be the speaker at the event. President of Moviyana Film Society Belayet Hossain Mamun will host the online ceremony. Born on June 4 in 1949, veteran filmmaker and film teacher Badal Rahman had a tremendous impact on the film society movement in the country. He directed first full-length feature film for children in Bangladesh titled Emiler Goyenda Bahini. Over the course of his illustrious career, he made a few more acclaimed films for children. He also served as the president of the Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh till his death. He pioneered the launch of the first film appreciation course in the country.
