Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
Today is the Independence Day of Bangladesh. To mark the day, cameraperson and play director Niaz Mahbub has made a special drama titled Konkal based on a story written by Azam Khan where popular faces of the small screen Moutushi Biswas acted in role of a journalist. Meanwhile, Moutushi also acted in another special play titled Swapno Mrittyu Kimba Bhalobasar Golpo directed by two Satirtha Rahman. Here Moutushi played the role of Kajol. The shooting of both plays were done before the Coronavirus outbreak in the country.
While talking about acting in the play Konkal Moutushi said, “Having played the role of a journalist, I have understood that how hard work they do and how important duties they carry out. I deeply felt it’s a very challenging profession. Through the portrayal of my character in the drama, I have also realised that the journalists work tremendously hard to present true news to the masses. I give thanks to Niaz Mahbub for giving me an opportunity to play such a wonderful character.”
While talking about the play Konkal, director Niaz Mahbub said, “I have made the drama for a private TV channel. But no private channel wants to telecast the drama for its too sensitive subject. That is why; I have submitted the drama to Bangladesh Television. Any other channel, except BTV, cannot air the drama.” On the other hand, Satirtha Rahman-directed Swapno Mrittyu Kimba Bhalobasar Golpo will be aired on Channel i today, on the Independence Day.
However, today is the birthday of Moutushi. She has no plan to celebrate the day as the Coronavirus continues to spread worldwide, including Bangladesh.
Moutushi said, “We have to fight with this dangerous situation of Coronavirus outbreak by staying at home. May God help everyone to keep well and safe.”
