Sheikh Arif Bulbon :UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. It expands the possibilities for women and young people to lead healthy and productive lives. With the participation of world’s top celebrities it has been working to create different awareness programmes among the people for the welfare of the societies. For the last few years UNFPA is working to create awareness about breast-feeding by the working mothers. To create awareness among the mothers about breast-feeding specially the ‘first milk,’ which is also known as Shal Dudh, still now popular Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie and popular Bollywood’s actresses Kajol and Twinkle Khanna talked about the necessity of ‘First Milk’ under Public Service Message (PSM) programme. Recently UNFPA conducted a survey to find out most popular and happiest celebrity in Bangladesh. They found film actress Moushumi deserved that position. Moushumi talked about the necessity of breast-feeding under the PSM programme. Recently this process was done in an interview of Moushumi under a videography. National Film Award wining actress Lucy Tripti Gomes made the video, which was produced by Creative Media under Family Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Health.This video will be telecasted in different satellite channels including Bangladesh Television (BTV). While sharing her feelings in this regard Moushumi told this correspondent, “Earlier I had worked in many social and human welfare related programmes. I always like to participate in such type of activities not only as an actress but also a member of the society. I believe only human works remain forever.”From her early acting career, Moushumi has been engaged with various types of social awareness creating programmes under the banners of different organisations including own foundation ‘Moushumi Welfare Foundation,’ UNICEF and others. In the meantime, Moushumi has finished shooting of her directed film Shunnyo Hridoy. She will start dubbing of the film soon. Therefore, she has finished shooting of Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar’s Mon Janena Moner Thikana and Belal Ahmed’s Bhalobashboi To. Shooting of Moushumi’s acted and Habibul Islam Habib’s directed Ratrir Jatri is being held now. She got the National Film Award for acting in Nargis Akhter’s Meghla Akash in 2002. She is going to receive another national award for acting in late director Chashi Nazrul Islam’s Devdas.
