MoU to increase meat, milk production signed

Farmers and Professors have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work for increase of meat and milk production in the country.
A total of 100 farmers of Bangladesh Dairy Farmers’ Association (BDF) and breeding specialist professors from Bangladesh Agricultural University on Friday signed the MoU in the Fakhruddin Convention Hall at Dhanmondi of the capital for a jointly research work to increase meat, milk and cattle productions.
They also agreed for a research work to develop improved species of cattle to increase meat, milk and cattle.
AK Fazlul Haque, the head of the BAU researchers’ team in this regard said, “It is possible to bring a revolutionary change in this field within five years if the owners of dairy farms work consciously.”
BDF President Imran Hossain said, “Meat and milk production in Bangladesh are in poor condition. There is also lack of improved species of cattle. In these circumstances, the research work will be helpful for the farmers.”
Additional Secretary of Fisheries and Livestock, Kazi Wasiuddin, BAU Professors Md. Ruhul Amin and Shamsul Alam Bhuiyn, among others, were present.
