Motorcycles on Padma Bridge not allowed before Eid-ul-Azha

The government has decreed that motorcycles will not be allowed on the Padma Bridge before Eid-ul-Azha.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam told it in reply to a question at the end of a virtual cabinet meeting presided at by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday morning in the capital.
He said, it will be tough for the bike riders to cross Padma Bridge before Eid. Besides, cameras with artificial intelligence are also being set on the Bridge. So the decision will be taken after that, Cabinet Secretary said.
Earlier on Monday (June 27) government announced a ban on motorcycle on the Padma Bridge from 6 am until further notice. Meanwhile, it is not allowed to drive a motorcycle from one district to another for 7 days before and after Eid. In addition, ride sharing will be closed on the highway. The Road Transport Secretary informed about the matter on Sunday. It is learned that the ban will be effective from July 7 to 13.
