A woman and her son were killed by unidentified miscreants in their six-storey building at Kakrail on Wednesday evening.
The decapitated body of the woman was found in their flat on the fourth floor of the building No. 79/1 on the VIP Road in the evening.
The deceased have been identified as Shamshunnahar Karim, 46, wife of Abdul Karim, and her son Shaon Karim, 19.
Police recovered the bodies from Karim Tower, just opposite to the Willes Little Flower School and College in Kakrail, said Kazi Moinul Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station.
The woman’s silted body was found in the bed room while the body of the son was found on the stair of the floor, the police official said.
The Ramna Police Inspector (operations) Shafiqul Islam said that body of Karim’s son aged 19 was found lying in a pool of blood.
We are investigating the incident, the police official said.
We have detained the guard and the female domestic help for interrogation in this connection, he said.
A neighbour said, Abdul Karim owns the building and has ‘cinema business’.
