A mother was shot dead by her addicted son in Chattogram due to a dispute over ancestral property. This tragic incident took place in Patiya upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon (August 16).
The victim was identified as Jesmin Aktar, 50, wife of former Jatiya Party leader and Patiya municipality Mayor Shamsul Alam Master.
Mynul’s sister Ayesha Sarmin is crying because of her mother’s death. She also wanted justice for the brutality of the brother who shot and killed his mother. Father Shamsu Master died less than 40 days ago.
According to locals and police, there is a quarrel between mother and son Mainul Islam over the division of property. On Tuesday morning, mother Jasmine and her son had an argument about going to the bank with her daughter Shayla. Because of this, son Mainul shot and killed mother Jasmine Akhtar on the spot on Tuesday afternoon.
Later, on information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Rashidul Islam, Investigation Officer of Patiya Police Station confirmed the matter to the New Nation saying that our efforts are on to arrest the killer. But no case has not been filed yet with the Thana till writing the report.
