Over familial conflict, a son brutally killed his mother named Shaibalini Roy (55) in Mongla on Tuesday noon. Mongla Thana Police arrested the son Subrato Roy (42) and daughter-in-law Suchitra Biswash (30) without delay. They all lived at Bottala Shaikh Para area of Mongla Port Pouroshova.
It is learnt from Mongla Thana Police and local people that Shaibaliny Roy and her husband Khitish Roy was living with her elder son Subrato and his wife Suchitra at Bottala area as her two other sons live far from the family. A family feud continued with Subrato’s mother and his wife for a long time.
On that day, some feud happened between them. Reaching home, Subrato asked her mother about the feud but her mother was silent. Then Subrato again asked her mother about the conflict.
Finding no answer from his Mother, Subrato hit her mother with spade and she fell into the ground. Then Subrato repeatedly hit her mother with the spade. Local people and neighbors took her to Mongla Upazilla Health Complex but doctor declared her death.
Additional Police Super of Bagerhat Zilla Police Mir Safin Mahmud has told the newsmen that they have recovered the dead body and arrested the killer.
All necessary steps will be taken according to law. Husband of the deceased Khitish Roy has told the newsmen that he was sleeping after lunch when it happened.
