A general diary was lodged with Sadar Police Station here in connection with the missing of a young man, ATM Tajuddin, whose name was on the list of missing people published by law enforcement agencies after Gulshan café attack.
Tahera Begum, a schoolteacher and mother of Tajuddin, lodged The general Diary with the Sadar Police Station on Sunday night as the government, in the wake of recent terrorist attacks, urged all to inform the police about missing children. According to the GD, ATM Tajuddin, son of late Abdullah Bhuiyan of Atiatoli village in sadar upazila, went to Australia for education in 2006 and he had been staying there since then.
In 2008, Tajuddin secured the Australian citizenship after marrying a native girl. In 2013, Tajuddin came to his village home for visiting his ailing father and went back to Australia.
After Gulshan Café attack, law enforcement agencies published a list of 10 missing men and Tajuddin was among them. Tahera also said, Tajuddin contacted her from an unknown number
a few days before Ramzan. Then the mobile phone was found switched off, she said.
Nasim Mia, assistant superintendent of Laxmipur Police, said police are investigating the incident and legal action will be taken after investigation. Tajuddin passed the HSC from Laxmipur Government College in 1999 and obtained BSc degree from American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB) in Computer Science and Technology Department in 2004, said Tahera.
