Two of a family including mother and her daughter were stabbed by some miscreants in city’s Jurain area on Thursday noon. The victims are identified as Momtaz Begum, 40 and her daughter Ruma Akhter, 19. They are from Shariatpur district.
They are now undergoing treatment in critical condition at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Family sources said that, at least five miscreants entered a house adjacent to Jurain Medical Road at Kadamtali of the city, then stabbed both mother and her daughter randomly.
According to the victims, three persons including an identified man named Shahidul who served as former staff of victim’s shop.
Jamal Uddin Mir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kadamtali Police Station confirmed the news to the media that “I heard of a stabbing incident occurred in the area”. Police rushed to the spot and already a man has been arrested, OC added.
