A woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter were found dead at their house in Sadar upazila of Natore on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Masura Begum (25) and her daughter Mahfuza Khatun of Uttar Choukirpar area, said Md Mansur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
A police team recovered the bodies from their home around 1am being informed by locals. Later, the bodies sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the police officer.
Police also detained Masura’s husband Abdus
Sattar (35) for his suspected involvement in the deaths, the OC told the media.
Tarek Jubayer, additional superintendent of Natore police, said during interrogation, Sattar primarily confessed that he had a quarrel with his wife last night.
He said police primarily suspect that Sattar might have strangled Masura and their daughter to death over domestic dispute.
“But we are still not sure who were involved in the murder,” added the police official.
