A woman poisoned her two children and committed suicide over a dispute with her expatriate husband at Ramkantapur village of Singair Upazila in Manikganj district on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Rina Akhter, 28, wife of Abdul Aziz.
Sick Afrin Akhter, 6, and Abdul Momin, 4, have
said, “On Friday evening Rina poisoned the children and took poison herself. They were taken to local hospital for treatment, where doctors declared Rina dead and administered first aid to the two children.”
“The incident took place over a long time spiteful relationship between the spouses.
The in-laws often tortured Rina mentally, the police official said.
Police are investigating the incident, the OC added.
