A housewife murdered her son and she herself committed suicide on Sunday.
This incident happened in the village of kalikadaho under Bhangura upazila in Pabna district. Housewife’s name is Rubina Khatun (30). Rubina is a wife of day labourer Abdul Alim.
According to the villagers, Rubina Khatun was angry at her husband, because he was a gambler. Their only son Rahul (5) who is asked for drinking poison instead of drugs . Then she also drank the poison. They soon fell ill. Abdul Alim quickly took his son and his wife to Bhangura Health Center.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Shahadat Hossain said that the mother`s and the son`s stomach condition did not improve after washing. As a result, they were sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Abdur Razzaq, Officer- In-Charge of Bhangura thana, confirmed the incident that their dead bodies were sent for post-mortem in Pabna on Monday.
