A mother named Chandni Akhtar gave a confessional statement under Penal Code Section 164 in the case of killing her three-year-old son in Nikli haor upazila of Kishoreganj on Sunday afternoon.
The Senior Judicial Magistrate of Kishoreganj, Saddam Hossain recorded the confessional statement of Chandni Akhter under Section 164.
Nikli Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Mohammad Mansoor Ali Arif confirmed the matter and said that the accused Chandni Akter gave a confessional statement under section 164 in the court on the deposition, she confessed to killing her infant child by suffocation.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, this infanticide incident took place in Sajanpur Gachtala village in Nikli upazila. The name of the dead child is Jobayet, son of Abdul Karim of Sajanpur village of Jaritla union of the upazila.
On the other hand, the killer’s mother, Chandni Akhter, is the daughter of Majlu Mia of Sajanpur village and the wife of Abdul Karim.
According to police and local sources, Chandni Akhter got married four years ago. They had a son three years ago and named him Jobayet.
The victim’s child fathet Abdul Karim, filed a case with Nikli police station accusing Chandni Akhter.”
