Former Science and ICT Minister Mostafa Faruk Mohammad, who passed away at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday, will be laid to rest at the Mirpur Intellectual Graveyard on Friday, according to relatives of the deceased.
Mosfafa Faruk’s first namaz-e-janaza was held at his Baridhara residence after Zohr parayer while a second namaz-e-janaza was held at Sangshad Bhaban after Asr prayer on Thursday.
His body will be flown to Jhikorgaccha upazila in Jessore by a helicopter around 12 pm on Friday where his third namaz-e-janaza will be held on Jhikorgaccha B.M. High School premises after Jumma prayer, said Ilias Hossain, secretary of Jhikorgaccha municipal unit Awami League.
Later, the body will be brought back to Dhaka for burial.
Mostafa Faruk, also a former ambassador and Awami League MP from Jessore-2 constituency, breathed his last at United Hospital around 7:40pm at the age of 74, said his cousin Nasimul Habib Shipar.
He left behind wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Mostaf Faruk served as the Science and ICT minister during the previous term of the Awami League government.
