The election of Chattogram City Corporation is very near and who will be party nomimee of the ruling party is a talk of the town recently. But in consideration of the party decisions, the incumbent Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin may be the nominee for the Mayoral post.
AJM Nasiruddin was elected city Mayor on April 28, 2015 election. As per law of the land, the CCC election is supposed to be held on or before August 5 next. In the manifestos of last election, the election manifestos of AJM Nasiruddin almost fulfilled, city mayor said . Mentionable that the monthly honorarium of Tk.1.35 lakh so received from the corporation per month is being donated to Autism schools, hapless students of medical, engineering and other universities and ailing persons.City Mayor use own transport with own fuel costs.
As a part of clean and green city, the important circles of the city have been dec orated with eyecatching and the city became billboard free. In last four and half year, development projects of the city amount to Tk.5.5 thousand crores have been implemented and some under process. In case of water logging, CDA with joint collaboration of Armed forces are being implementing .
In administrative and service sides, there are 2,961 permanent officials and employees, 97 temporary staffs . In health sector, city corporation increased medicare facilties and in last 4 ours, about 15 lakh patients give medicare services . In every year, CCC subsidise Tk.13 crores in health sector and Tk.43 cr in education sector.
As a part of green city concept, all footpaths have beem d ecprated with natural secenic beauty and eye catching Mural of Bangabandhu erected at Airport Road and eyecatching swimming pool at outer stadium has been constructed. Mayor told BSS that he practices politics for the welfare of the city dwellers no for self gaining and he sough blessings of the city dwellers for fuffilling his all pledges before the coming election. Beside the city mayor, AJM Nasiruddin is the Director of Bangladesh cricket Board, General secretary of District Krira Sangstha and President of Divisional Sports Organisers Forum.
