A five-wicket haul by spinner Mosaddek Hossain powered Bangladesh to earn a massive seven-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in their second Twenty20 International (T20I) match at Harare Sports Club Ground in Zimbabwe on Sunday. Mosaddek Hossain played the key role to mop up the top and middle order of the hosts’ Zimbabwe. Mosaddek finished his superb spell as 4-0-20-5. Mosaddek Hossain was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding and match-winning bowling performance.
By virtue of yesterday’s victory, Bangladesh leveled the T20I series 1-1. Tomorrow Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in their third and final T20I at the same venue. The match will start at 5.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the do-or-die match live.
Chasing Zimbabwe’s paltry total of 135 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs, Bangladesh romped home making 136 for the loss of three wickets when they had 15 balls to spare.
Bangladesh made a good start with two openers Litton Das and Munim Shahriar added together 37 runs in the opening stand before Munim (7) was bowled out by Richard Ngarava.
Then, Litton Das and Anamul Haque Bijoy repaired the damage contributing together 41 runs for the second wicket partnership before Litton Das was trapped leg before wicket by Sean Williams when Bangladesh’s total was 78 for the loss of two wickets.
