GWM Mortaza has recently joined with Bangladesh Commerce Bank (BCB) as DMD. Mortaza has 30 years of banking experience with BSB, BASIC Bank, EBL, Trust Bank, DBBL, City Bank, Bank Asia.
He had schooling from Mirzapur Cadet College (MCC) and M.Com (Finance) & MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka.
He started his career through joining with the then Bangladesh Shilpa Bank (BSB) as Financial Analyst back in the year 1985. He had the opportunity to work with BASIC Bank, Eastern bank, Trust Bank, Dutch Bangla Bank, The City Bank throughout his long career. Before joining BCB, he was Senior Executive Vice President of Bank Asia.
Besides, Mortaza was awarded by the Rotary International, USA as an outstanding young Professional from Bangladesh and had an on the job training in Virginia & Tennessee, USA. He has also the experience of working for World Bank as their consultant and got the opportunity to attend various training/workshop both at home and abroad. Further he was recognized by the South East Asia Enterprise Development Facility (SEDF), a concern of IFC/World Bank and assigned one of their resource persons as a trainer in different Core Risk Management on behalf of Bangladesh Bank.
Mortaza is a Diplomate Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB). His avocations are music, travelling, sports and CSR. Mr. Mortaza is also involved with different social clubs like Rotary, Cadet College and IBA Alumni.
