Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan said an initiative has been taken to modernize the rail management by recruiting more manpower to remove all kinds of mismanagement and irregularities in the sector.
“The present government has emphasized on building a coordinated communication system to bring back good days of the railways… We have embarked on a plan to recruit more manpower to overcome the existing problems in this sector,” he said.
The minister said this while addressing the closing ceremony as the chief guest of the 11th parade of Bangladesh Railway Nirapatta Bahini at Pakshi of Pabna district.
The present government has allocated budget this year for the railways giving greater importance, he said, adding that separate railways are being constructed on the Jamuna River and high speed train service will be introduced in Rajshahi and Rangpur following Dhaka and Chattogram districts. Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the ministry of railways Nadira Yeasmin Jolly and Bangladesh Railway Director General Rafiqul Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
