Zia Trust case: More cross-exam of-ACC Dy Director May 15

A Dhaka court on Thursday fixed May 5 for further cross-examination of the complainant Harun-or-Rashid, Deputy Director of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
Earlier, on the day, the lawyers of Begum Khaleda Zia completed cross-examining the complainant. Later, Advocate Sanaullah Miah started cross-examination on behalf of BNP’s Senior Vice Chairman Tareque Rahman. However, as he could not
 complete cross-examination on Thursday, Judge Abu Ahmed Jamader of the Special Judge Court-3 of Dhaka fixed the new date.
On July 3, 228, the ACC filed the graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Tareque Rahman, former BNP lawmaker Kazi Salemul Haque, businessperson Sharfuddin Ahmed, Khaleda Zia’s former Principal Secretary Kamal Uddin Siddiqui and former President Ziaur Rahman’s nephew Momenur Rahman with Ramna Model Police Station accusing the six of misappropriating over Tk 2.10 crore, which came as grant from a foreign bank for orphans.
