The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Cultural Affairs Ministry suggested raising allocations for institutes and organizations on poet Kazi Nazrul Islam to conduct research on him and increase publication, preservation and circulation of his works.
The suggestion was made on Tuesday at the 6th meeting of the standing committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with committee chairman Simin Hossain (Rimi) in the chair, said an official release.
Committee members Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, M.A. Hannan, Pinu Khan and Jebunnesa Afroz attended the meeting.
The committee suggested setting up Nazrul Mancha at Dhanmondi Lake corner in front of the Kobi Bhaban.
