Month long BITF begins today

The month long Bangladesh International Trade and Export Fair-2015 (BITEF-2015) will begin in the city from today with the participation of Iran, Pakistan and Thailand.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will formally inaugurate the fair at Abhani field in city’s Halishahar area at 11 am on Saturday.
This was disclosed by BITEF-2015 convener A M Mahbub Chowdhury at a press conference held at Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI) auditorium. Mhabub Chowdhury in his written statement said CMCCI is going to arrange the International Trade and Export Fair for the second time in the country. He said over 84 stalls including 10 mega pavilions, eight medium pavilions, 18 standard pavilions, banks and insurance institutions have been set up at the fair venue covering an area of two lakh square feet.He also informed that business institutions from different countries including Iran, Pakistan and Thailand agreed to participate the fair.
Besides, ambassadors of different countries would visit the fair and seminars and roundtable meetings would be arranged in the fair which will be opened for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm every day.
Water resource Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Expatriate welfare Minister Nurul Islam Bsc, state Minister for land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, City Mayor A Z M Nasir Uddin, M A Latif MP among others will attend the function as special guests, Mahbub Chowdhury said. CMCCI President Khalilur Rahman, CMCCI directors Abdul Awal, M A Malek, Liakat Ali Chowdhury, Shafiuddin, and Abdus Salam, among others, were present in the press conference.
