Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali was laid to eternal rest beside his parents’ graves at Shah Mostafa Mazar at Darjirmahal in the district town on Wednesday.
The burial took place around 5:03 pm after a namaz-e-janaza at Moulvibazar Government High School ground around 4 pm. Earlier, the body of the late minister brought here from the capital around 12:30 pm by a helicopter at Moulvibazar M Saifur Rahman Stadium.
Later, his body was taken to his village home in Darjirmahal. His body was then taken to Moulvibazar Government High School ground where people from all walks of life gathered to show their last respect to him.
Chief Whip ASM Firoz, State Minister for Social Welfare Promod Mankin, Awami League organising secretary Misbah Uddin Siraj, Whip Shahab Uddin Ahmed, and Syed Mushtaq Ali, younger brother of the minister briefly recalled works and memory of the minister before the janaza.
The late minister’s first namaz-e-janaza was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad in the morning.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to late valiant freedom fighter and Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali by placing wreaths on his coffin at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
