Mohammedan reach last four in Fed Cup

Title aspirant Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited reached semifinals of Federation Cup beating Soccer Club, Feni by 2-1 goals in the second quarterfinals match held on Wednesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
In the day’s match, Mohammedan took lead in the 21st minute through their substitute defender Biplu Ahmed. He scored with an angular shot into far post on a cutback of midfielder Abu Sayed Jewel (1-0).
Guinean forward Ismail Bangoura increased the margin double with a header after Habibur Rahman Shohag’s attempt punched by Soccer Club goalie Ahsan Habib Bipu came to his way in the 39th minute (2-0).
Soccer came close of scoring in the 57th minute as Gambian midfielder Dawda Ceesay’s powerful shot from outside the box was saved by Mohammedan goalie M Nehal who dived to the left but forward Sohel Mia failed to connect the rebounder.
Soccer Club midfielder Dawda Ceesay’s fierce 25 yards was punched away by Mohammedan goalie Nehal at a cost of corner in the 82nd minute.
Soccer Club pulled one back in the 90th minute. Forward Sohel Mia placed the ball in to the net on cutback of Dawda Ceesay from the left wing (2-1).
