Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club split points with Brothers Union Club when their match ended in a goalless draw in the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the day’s match, Mohammedan left back Topu Barman tried his luck in the 38th minute with a powerful left footer but Sujon was in the right position to grip the ball.
In the 47th minute, Towhidul Alam Sabuj squandered a chance to provide his team to lead when he failed to touch a cross of defender Ariful Islam that was curved from the right flank.
M Sujon was in his best in the 58th minute as he dived to his left to fist a Mejbabul Haque Manik’s left footed placing shot, Arup Baidya paved the way for Manik at the middle of the box.
Topu Barman came close to a strike in the 70th minute when his right footed chip on a long ball of Wahed beat Shujon in the air but missed the far post.
Brothers Union’s midfielder Shafikul Islam saw his 20-yarder in the 87th minute blocked by a diving Mohammedan custodian Titumir Chowdhury.
Mohammedan have 42 points from 26 matches while Brothers took their tally to 38 points from the same number of outings.
