Two DEMU train of Bangladesh Railway will run in the Chittagong-Nazirhat line after completion of modernization work of the track in this line .
Present Government has undertaken to modernize the Nazirhat old rail track after 84 years .In the meantime, govt has sanctioned Tk.110cr for modernizing the line . The modernization work is almost nearing completion, railway east zone sources said. Immediate after completion of the Nazirhat railway track, one pair of DEMU train in between Chittagong and Nazirhat in north Chittagong will be deployed , sources said. These DEMU trains have been imported from China recently for short commuters service in city and its outskirts.Railway sources said the fare for one way fixed Tk.20 Mentionable that the British regime installed Chittagong-Nazirhat rail service in 1930 .
Sensing the servere traffic congestion on Chittagong -Hathazari-Fatikchari-Khagrachari road , the present Governent has taken a epoch making steps to ease the traffic congestions in between Chittagong, Hathazari and Nazirhat, railway sources said.
