A brilliant bating display by Mohammad Mithun and Asif Ahmed saw Legends of Rupganj to post an overwhelming six-wicket victory over Cricket Coaching School in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Thursday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Narayanganj.
Chasing a winning target of 243 runs set by CCS, Rupganj rode on two half centuries by Mithun (90) and Asif (72 n.o), reached home for the loss of four wickets with 10 balls remaining.
Saif Hasan was the pick of CCS bowler taking three wickets conceding 38 runs.
Earlier, put to bat first by Rupganj, CCS, rode on Rajin Saleh’s unbeaten ton, scored a decent total of 242 for 7 from their stipulated 50 overs.
Skipper Rajin scored a brilliant 106 runs off 138 balls laced with eight boundaries and one over boundary while he received an ample support from Amit Majumder who contributed 56 runs.
Mosharraf Hossain was the most successful bowler for Rupganj as he grabbed three wickets conceding 32 runs. He was well supported by Taijul Islam who claimed two wickets giving away 33 runs.
Mohammad Mithun of Rupganj was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
