After 28 years popular Indian Bengali Ghazal singer Mitali Mukherjee came to her birth place Mymensingh in Bangladesh. Yesterday she went to Mymensingh with her elder brother to stay there for some days. In 1991, she last went there. Mitali’s father Amullo Mukherjee, who retired as DIG in 1977, was died of cancer in 1995. She promised to her father to come to Mymensingh but could not visit there.
Mitali said, “I earlier couldn’t believe I get the opportunity to visit my birth place Mymensingh. After coming here I am really feeling good. I can recall my old days. So, I am travelling Vidyamoyee School, Mominunnesa College and other places. I have become nostalgic at every moment.”
Mitali’s mother Kallyani Mukherjee also rendered song well. Her father also could play flute well.
