Missing school girl’s body found

Five people were found dead in Bogra, Keraniganj of Dhaka and Sylhet districts on Friday. In Bogra, police recovered the partially decomposed body of a Class-VI girl from a vegetable field in Shajahanpur upazila around 11am.
The deceased was identified as Jesmin Ara, 14, daughter of Asmat Ali of Jamunna village in the upazila. She had been missing since she went out of their house for private tuition three days ago, according to family members.
A towel was found wrapped around her neck and there were marks of acid injury to the body.
Shajahanpur police station officer-in-charge Abdul Mannan said the girl might have been killed after rape.
The body of an unidentified sexagenarian woman floating in the Jamuna River was recovered by police in Sonatala upazila.
Police also recovered the body of Hossain Ali, 50, son of Safed Ali of Balapar in Shibganj upazila, from Challish Chhatrobeel area at noon.
Marks of knife wounds were visible in different parts of the body, according to police.
In Keraniganj, police recovered the body of a youth from the Rajuk Jhilmil Project area in the morning.
The deceased was identified as M Mamun, 30, son of Tawhidul Islam of Sitarampur village at Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj.
Mamun used to live with his family members at Matikata of Dhaka Cantonment area, according to family members. He was accused in several drug-abuse cases, they added.
He went missing after he had left home to appear before a court on Thursday, according to family members.
Meanwhile in Sylhet city, police recovered the body of an auto-bike driver named M Mamun.
Muggers killed Mamun after snatching his vehicle on Thursday night, police suspected.
There were marks of wounds on the head and other parts of the body.
