Missing journalist found dead in Kushtia

Police have recovered the decomposed body of a local journalist from a bridge in Tebaria village of Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.
The deceased was identified as Hasibur Rahman Rubel, 31, General Secretary of Kushtia District Reporters Club. He was also local correspondent of the Daily Kustiar Khobor.
The victim went missing five days ago in Kushtia.
According to locals, on Sunday (July 3), responding to a phone call, Hasibur came out of his newspaper office at Singer Mor in Kushtia city at around 9:00pm.
Since then,victim remained traceless and his mobile phone remained switched off. Later, the dead body was found on Thursday noon (July 7).
Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamruzzaman Talukdar said,on information, a team of Kumarkhali police recovered the body with the assistance of local people and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination, the OC said.
His family members confirmed his identity seeing his clothes and identity card in his wallet, the police official said.
The reasons behind the killing could be known after getting post-mortem report, the OC said, adding that they were investigating into the matter
