Missing girl found dead

Police recovered the body of a nine-year-old girl, who was traceless since Tuesday, from a commercial building in Badurtala area of Chittagong city early on Thursday.
The deceased Salma Akter daughter of Md Solaiman of the area in the city was a class-two student of Atatul Cadet Madrasa in Bahaddarhat.
Salma went missing after she left home for her father’s workplace, Jamuna Paribahan’s ticket counter at Bahaddarhat Intersection, said her family members. Victim’s father lodged a general diary with Panchlaish Police Station on Tuesday.
He said in the CCTV footages of Badurtala area Salma was seen in front of the two-storey building, Naymia Bhaban, around 12:20pm on Tuesday. They searched the second-floor of the building on Tuesday night but Salma was not found.
On Wednesday night they searched again and found her body in a wooden box.On information police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
Mohammad Wali Uddin Akbar, inspector (investigation) of Panchlaish Police Station, said the body was almost decomposed. The girl might have been killed by suffocation. A murder case was filed.
