A school student was found dead at Chomordanga under Abhaynagar Police Station of Jessore district on Wednesday evening.
Abhaynagar police recovered the body of Sajedur Rahman, 11, a student of class -V of Nehalpur Pre-Cadet School under adjacent Monirampur Police Station.
Sajedur went missing since April 11, said Sheikh Nasir Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Abhaynagar Police Station.
Son of Saiful Islam Gazi of Pachakari village under Monirampur Police Station, Sajedur was the first boy of his class. Asaduzzaman, Sub-Inspector of Bhabadah police camp told newsmen that the decomposed body of the child was seen floating on the Teka River water at Chomordanga under Abhaynagar Police Station on Wednesday evening. ‘The body was found wrapped in a sack,’ he added.
The police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A general diary was lodged with Monirampur Police Station by Rabiul Islam, an uncle of the victim.
