Police recovered decomposed body of an auto-rickshaw driver from the Mohasingh river near Dabor Bridge in Pagla union of Dakkhin Sunamganj upazila on Saturday noon, six days after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Iqbal Hossain, 23, son of Chhalik Mia, resident of Rupia village of Balaganj upazila of Sylhet district.
Locals spotted his floating body near the bridge in the river on Saturday noon and informed police, said Al-Amin, officer-in-charge of Dakkhin Sunamganj Police Station.
On information, police recovered the body as unidentified.
Later being informed, Iqbal’s family identified the body to be of him.
Family sources said Iqbal went missing on May 18 around 10pm.
