Staff Reporter :Leaders of Bangladesh Bread, Biscuits and Confectionary Manufacturers Association (BBBCMA) hailed the government, finance ministry and concerned authorities of Bangladesh Bank for issuing letters to all scheduled banks for reminding the obligation of receiving metal coins from their clients.The also demanded the government of making bound all the scheduled banks to follow the rule to this end.The made the demand at an emergency meeting held at it headquarters recently in the city with president of the association, Md Jamal Uddin, in the chair. Md Jamal Uddin in his speech said, thousands of confectionary owners’ are now facing serious setback to run their business due to negligence of the scheduled banks centering the metal coins as major portion of investment of many confectionary owners’ have now been turned into metal coins. The branches of the scheduled banks, he said, are not receiving the metal coins as there were no specific directives from their respective head offices. He however was optimistic that such initiative of the central bank would help thousands of confectionary owners’ from their brink of destruction.General Secretary of the organization Rezaul Haque Rezu said new inspiration would be created among the private run labour intensive confectionary factory owners and workers over the government’s decision that has been taken considering the interests of hundreds of thousands of unemployed labourers.
