Miscreants have snatched away an accused after firing bullets on police in the capital’s Kotbari area. Top officials of police have already visited the spot.
The incident took place at Kotbari Checkpost area around 12:00 pm on Sunday (March 13).
According to police, a drug dealer escaped after attacking the police at Kotbari under Dakshin Khan.
Dakshin Khan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mamunur Rahman confirmed the matter to the media saying that some policemen including ASI Wasim went to arrest a drug dealer in Kotbari area. At that time, the drug dealer and his associates picked up stones from the railway line and started throwing those at the policemen. ASI Wasim and three constables were injured. They have been given primary treatment after the attack.
The drug dealer and his accomplices escaped the spot. We have already arrested seven people in this connection “Operations are underway to arrest the others assailants.
Legal action will be taken in case of attack on the police. “Details in this regard will be revealed latter, OC added.
