Mirsarai tragedy 11 laid to rest, suspended gateman sued

The eleven people who were killed in a tragic road accident on their way back from Khayachhra Jharna at Mirsharai level crossing were buried in their family graveyards after the funeral prayer.
The funeral of five people out of 11 was completed at Amanbazar Khandakia Chamudiya Government Primary School of Hathazari Upazila on Saturday (July 30) at 10:30 am.
Whilst, the funeral of four more deceased was held at Najumia school grounds around 11:30 am.
The funeral prayer of the deceased Maruf and Jisan were held on Friday (July 29) night. They were later buried in the family graveyard.
Earlier, 11 passengers of a microbus were killed and four others injured when a train rammed a microbus at a level crossing at Mirsarai in Chattogram on Friday.
Meanwhile, a case has been filed against Saddam Hossain, a Bangladesh Railway (BR) gateman, over his negligence that resulted in the death of 11 people.
Chattogram General Railway Police Assistant Inspector Zahirul Islam filed the case on Saturday (July 30) on the charge of negligence.
Earlier on Friday (July 29) evening, Saddam Hossain was arrested by the police from Baratokia area. Meanwhile, Saddam Hossain has been suspended by the Railways.
