All-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team made a world record on Tuesday against Namibia Under-19 Cricket team bagging 74 wickets in 53 matches. It is a world youth One Day International (ODI) record. He claimed two wickets for 12 runs against Namibia at Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on the same day to make the record. He finished his superb spell as 7.5-4-12-2. Earlier, Imad Wasim of Pakistan captured 73 wickets.
After the match against Namibia, Miraz said, ” I was confident that I shall break the record today. I feel very good. After bagging the second wicket, all the teammates came to me. They were embracing me and congratulated me. Everybody inspired me saying you have made a worthy record.”
Earlier, Nazmul Hossain Shanto made another record. He remained unbeaten with 113 against Scotland on January 31. Shanto scored 1747 runs playing 54 matches. Earlier, Sami Aslam of Pakistan scored 1695 runs playing 40 matches.
