Two siblings drowned in Meghna River besides Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Mahmudabad village here on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Shamim, 9, and his sister Shimu, 5, children of Alamin of the village.
Locals said Shimu fell into the water while taking bath in the river around 3 pm.
Seeing his sister going down, Shamim dived into the river and drowned himself.
