A minor boy was killed as he fell from a bridge and drowned in the canal in Jagannatpur village of Debidwar upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Jesan, 5, son of Saudi expatriate Dulal Mia of the village in the upazila.
Family members saidJesanfell from the bridge and drowned in the canal while he was playing alone on the bridge without railings near his house at noon.
Later, locals recovered the body from the canal, said MA Salam, chairman of the local unionparishad.
