An 11-month old boy drowned in a water-filled bucket in Dakkhin Madartek area in the city on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Abdullah, son of Obaidul Islam, hailing from Sorail upazila in Brahmanbaira.
Obaidul’s brother Sajedul Islam said Abdullah crawled to the bathroom and drowned in a bucket of water at noon while its mother was working.
As the minor boy was found unconscious, it was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, said Bacchu Miah, inspector of DMCH police outpost.
