The Ministry of Jute and Textile has formed 15 teams to supervise Bangladesh Jute Mill Corporation’s (BJMC) procedures regarding purchase of jute to maintain quality. The teams will work to eliminate irregularities and to ensure purchase of jute in a reasonable price directly from the farmers. During the purchase season, the teams will also inspect the procurement centres at least once in a month.
They will monitor and collect the information daily and present a report every week.
Every year, BJMC directly purchases jute from the farmers through its jute buying centre.
This year, BJMC will purchase jute with its 57 centres.
