A taskforce of the Health Ministry is conducting a raid at the City Medical College Hospital in Gazipur on allegations of a wide range of irregularities.
The raid, which started on Monday noon, is being conducted with the help of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The raid team is being led by RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam. Umme Salma Tanzia, joint secretary (hospital wing) of the Health Ministry, and Lt Commander Abdullah Al Mamun, camp commander of Porabari, RAB-1 are also present at the spot.

According to sources, the lab that is being used to conduct Covid-19 tests at the hospital does not have any approval from the concerned authorities.
Moreover, there are various reports of mismanagement and irregularities against the hospital.
