Awami League Presidium Member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Friday expressed government’s firm commitment to defeat and eradicate militants and terrorists under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“The militants and terrorists have to be eliminated forever from the soil of Bangladesh. The conspirators will not be favoured in any way. We defeated the conspirators in 1971 and we will defeat them again,” he said.
Nasim said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organised by Jagannath Hall Alumni Association at Dhaka University R C Majumdar Arts Auditorium marking the martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Nasim said the best Bangalee of thousands of years, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman united the people irrespective of their religion, caste, creed and colour.
Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had dreamt to make a Bangladesh poverty and hunger free and a developed country but he could not finish his job, he said adding that the unfinished dream of father of the nation is now being implemented by his illustrious daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“So, the entire nation has united under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and she will not fail,” he added.
At a time when the country has been marching towards progress and development, conspiracies have been hatched to hinder the pace of progress, the AL leader said.
“We will uproot militants and the alien forces under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina . . . No compromise with anti- liberation forces,” he added.
