Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Prof. Abdul Mannan said militants have no religion rather militancy of their profession. He said in the name of religion, militancy tarnished our reputations and our present govt became successful in eliminating the militancy from the country.
He disclosed it while addressing the 2-day long international conference on ” world peace & security:Role of Islam” as arranged by the Shariah faculty with the cooperation of Centre for Research & Publilications (CRP) at Kumira main campus of the university yesterday morning as chief guest.
Managing Director of PKSF and the former principal secretary of the Prime Minister Md. Abdul Karim graced the occasion as special guest duly presided by the vice chancellor of IIUC Prof. KM Golam Mohiuddin . Former vice chancellor of IIUC Prof. AKM Azharul Islam Professor of Aligarh Muslim university of India Prof.Dr. Md. Sanaullah Nadvi, Vice Rector of Algerian Al Quader University Dr. Chibaiki, and pro-VC of IIUC Prof. Dr. Md. Delwar Hossain addressed compliment speech in it. Dean of the Shariah faculty and chairman of conference committee Prof.Dr. Md. Nazmul Hoque Nadvi delivered address of welcome .
Among others, vice chairman of the IIUC Trusty board prof. Dr.kazi Din Mohammad, Trust member Prof. Ahsanullah and Md. Nurullah were present in the dais. Chowdhury Golam Mowla, Dr. Lutfur Rahman and Mamunur Rashid conducted the conference events , a IIUC sources said.
The chief guest in his brief deliverations said in present world there are some ill efforts trying to create unstable situation s beside the long standing peace of Islam religion and said Islam is the religion of peace which was continuing from early 1400 years. But a vested quarters is trying to abuse the Islam aimed at creating bad reputations across the world. Special guest and the chair of the conference also addressed the participants. Mentionable that 61 representative including researchers from 23 countries in cluding Bangladesh, Austria, England, India, Middle East , Europe and African countries will participated the conference .
Among them, there was 6 keynote speakers. Out of 90 articles on the subject so presented in the conference yesterday includes 69 foreign and 21 local .
A total of 158 articles on the subject of the conference already received by the conference committee. These articles will be presented in 15 academic sessions consists of 6 in each session.
Former vice chancellor of IIUD Prof. AKM Azharul Islam , prof. Dr.Sanaullah Nadvi of india, Prof. Dr. Chibaiki, Dr. Abu Yahya of Algerian university, Prof. Dr. Nazi Mustafa Badwi Sulaiman and Prof.Dr.Ali Isha bin Abdur Rahman of Sudan Islamic University will present keynote papers in the sessions, sources said.
