Militancy is not a problem of any particular country; it is a multi-national and multi-dimensional problem. The whole world today is the victim of militancy. This is not a religious or ethnic issue. The government of every country has taken action against militancy. To ensure a peaceful society and country, everyone, irrespective of race, ethnicity, should work shoulder to shoulder in counter-terrorism activities.
The speakers spoke at a workshop titled ‘The Impact and Predictability Analysis of Militancy’ on Tuesday at deputy police commissioners (North) office meeting room in Chattogram.
The workshop was organized under the Ghashful implementation of YES project with the help of the Manusher Jonnyo Foundation (MJF). Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Deputy Commissioner (North) Vijay Basak was Chief Guest at the workshop chaired by Deputy Director of Ghashful Mofizur Rahman.
Assistant Police Commissioner (North) Devdut Majumder, District Information Officer Said Hassan, YES Project Coordinator Amar Sadhan Chakma, Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam, Panchlaish Police Station OC Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, Corporation Ward Councilors Saheed Iqbal Babu and Kafil Uddin Khan, were also present.
Anti-tobacco campaign launched: A kabigan (local counter songs) centring demerits of tobacco use and its consequences was arranged at the seven road crossing of CRB in the port city recently . After end of Kabigan, a puppet drama show also staged at the same venue citing the b ad effectiveness of the use of tobacco.
BITA ELLMA and CAB jointly organized the cultural programs asking the people to give up the smoking .
Besides, the save the young general f rom the curse of tobacco, this cultural programs were also organized in different schools of the city wards areas. In the meantime. 56 programs of Kabigan in 28 wards, 30 puppet drams in 15 wards, 5 school threatre shows and 5 anti-tobacco awareness songs were arranged .
Executive Director of BITA Mr. Shishir Dutta told that from anti-British movement to Bangladesh Liberation Movement, cultural programs played effective role other than speeches, statement and processions etc.
He said cultural programs can attract the people of remote areas in every anti-social activities through cultural activities which can play major role of anti-tobacco campaign.
