Mild tremor jolts country again

A mild earthquake jolted Dhaka and other parts of the country again on Monday. The tremor, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, was felt around 6:35 pm. However, there was no immediate report of any damage or casualty, said Dhaka Met office. The epicentre of the earthquake was near Siliguri of India along Bangladesh-India border, 413 km northeast-West of Dhaka’s earthquake observatory. Earlier on Saturday, a 7.9 magnitude of tremor jolted Nepal, India, China and Bangladesh, causing a huge loss of lives and property. On Sunday, an earthquake of 6.7 magnitude hit Nepal, also shaking India and Bangladesh. The death toll from the earthquake in Nepal now stands at 3700. – Dhaka, Apr 27 (UNB)
