Staff Reporter :A mild earthquake has jolted Dhaka and other parts of the country for the third consecutive day.The tremor struck at around 6:34pm Monday. The magnitude of the quake was 5.1 in Richter Scale and the epicentre was 5km Southwest of Mirik, India, according to USGS.Meanwhile, the residential students of a hostel of Eden Mohila College have been evacuated after a number of cracks being developed at the building on Monday, two-day after the country was jolted by a 7.5 quake.Principal of the college Professor Husne Ara said that a number of cracks were noticed on the second, third and seventh floors of the 11 storied Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Hostel building on Monday.”All the students of the dorm were moved to safer places. The college authorities have already contacted experts for examining the cracks,” she said.
