Mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the districts of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Chandpur and it may abate at some places, said a met office press release here on Saturday.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am yesterday.
Moderately heavy falls may occur at isolated places over northern parts of the country, the release said.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature was recorded on Friday 37.5 degrees Celsius at Khulna and minimum temperature on Saturday 23.1 degrees Celsius at Srimangal.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am today was recorded 104 millimetres (mm) at Sylhet.
