Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted continuation of heat wave in many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.
“Rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions” said a met office bulletin issued here on Monday. The mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Dhaka, Madaripur, Dinajpur, Sayedpur, Rajshahi, Ishurdi and Badalgachhi and it may continue for the next 24 hours, it said.
