The ongoing mild heat wave may abate from five districts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am on Wednesday.
“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and it may abate from some places,” said the bulletin.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” it added, reports BSS.
However, the day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it also said.
Country’s maximum temperature was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi on Tuesday and minimum temperature on Wednesday was 24.2 degrees Celsius at Sandwip.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday was recorded 80mm in Feni.
